Kootenay

This region is located in southeastern British Columbia. The region takes it name from the Kootenay River, which in turn was named for the Kutenai First Nations people.  The main industries in this region are cattle ranching and crops. There are a variety of opportunities to work in the different sectors:  field labourers (tree fruit), vegetables (tomatoes, seeds, oilseeds, cereals, ranchers (cattle), and livestock helpers. Additional sectors in the region include landscape, nursery, growers, retail, arboriculture – forestry as well as golf and turf.
